Rich Figg comes from a real estate family. His father, Rod Figg, owned Rod Figg Realtors in Bloomington, and Rich grew up around the business. He started helping with rental properties and appraisal work while studying at Indiana University, and he quickly found his calling.

After earning his real estate broker’s license in 1984, Rich founded Figg Appraisal Group in 1985. Over the following decades, he built the firm into a team of multiple appraisers and support staff, with offices in downtown Bloomington — including space in the Showers Building, on the Courthouse Square, and on South Walnut Street.

Today, Rich works independently, focusing on the complex commercial and residential assignments where his depth of experience matters most. His work spans an unusually wide range of property types: from single-family homes to large commercial developments, government facilities, utility infrastructure, and right-of-way acquisitions.

All of his business comes through referrals and word of mouth — from banks, attorneys, fellow appraisers, and past clients who trust his judgment and know his work.
